Who we are
CasinoMaps (casinomaps.io) is a directory of casinos and gaming halls, published by John Wright. Questions and privacy requests: privacy@casinomaps.io. Replace that address if you publish the site under a different contact.
What this site processes
Basic delivery. The host, Cloudflare, processes technical request data such as IP address, browser and the page requested in order to serve the site and resist abuse.
Nearest city. Opening the homepage asks Cloudflare’s approximate location for the connection, at city scale, which city rail to show. The answer is returned to the browser and is not stored.
Analytics, only after you accept, and only once a measurement ID is configured. This initial build ships a placeholder ID, so accepting does not contact Google until that placeholder is replaced.
Outbound clicks, only after you accept. A click on Directions, Website or Phone records the time in UTC and the local day and hour in the venue’s timezone, the listing, the link type and address, the page and referrer, device type, operating system and browser name, approximate country, region and city, and a hash of the IP address. The hash uses a salt that changes every UTC day. The raw IP address and the full user-agent string are not stored. A repeat of the same click within a minute is counted once.
Listing suggestions. The form at /submit/ sends what you type, including any name or email, to a GitHub issue when that integration is configured. Issues may be public, so do not include secrets.
Maps. Pages with a map request tiles from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address. Maps are not tied to the consent choice.
Your choice
The banner’s Accept and Reject buttons are equal, and nothing is pre-selected. The choice is stored in this browser for 12 months. Privacy settings in the footer opens the banner again. Rejecting or withdrawing stops later analytics and click logging. It does not erase rows already stored; write to the contact address to ask about those.
Who processes it
Cloudflare hosts the site and holds the click-log database. Google receives analytics only after you accept and only when a real measurement ID is set. GitHub stores form submissions when a token is configured. OpenStreetMap serves map tiles.
How long it is kept
Raw click rows are kept for 13 months. A daily job then folds them into counts by day, listing, link type, device type and country, and deletes the raw rows. Those counts have no IP hash, page or referrer. The consent choice stays in your browser for 12 months. Form submissions stay in GitHub until they are closed.
Your rights
Under Québec’s Law 25 and PIPEDA you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information, and you can withdraw consent. Because the click log stores a daily hash rather than an IP address, a specific row may not be findable. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Storage in the browser
cm_consent remembers accept or reject for 12 months. cm_city remembers a city you picked in the menu. Google’s _ga cookies are set only after you accept and only when a real measurement ID is configured. There are no advertising cookies.
Venue information
Listings repeat public business details such as name, address and phone from the venue’s own site, with the source and the date it was read. That is information about a business, not about visitors. Operators can ask for a correction through the claim form or the contact address. Sample listings are fictional and labeled.
