History & Facts

Formerly Lady Luck, it opened its doors in 1964. In 2000, it was purchased by Isle of Capri Casinos. 

In 2002, the resort was acquired by Steadfast AMX, who converted two floors into a common space. 

On May 13, 2005, it was acquired by Henry Brent Company, who bought the complex for $24 million dollars. On May 16, it was announced that further renovations would be made to the property in 2006.

Financing for these renovations collapsed, and in 2007 the casino was acquired by CIM Group.

After a legal and investigative process, in 2011 the property underwent a major $100 million renovation. The name was changed to Downtown Grand.

Its doors opened on October 27, 2013. A new tower called Gallery Tower opened in 2020, leaving the hotel with a total of 1,124 rooms.
