California Hotel & Casino is a large Hawaiian-themed resort located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. It opened its doors in 1974 and is owned by Boyd Gaming, a company dedicated to gaming and hospitality.

Over the years, this hotel was remodeled to make it more modern, add rooms to the hotel, and provide people with more entertainment spaces. 

This complex integrates a casino area that offers a wide variety of games, including table games, a sports betting house, and slot machines. This makes it a good place to place bets, be entertained, and have a good time in its facilities.

The casino area of this complex offers people many ways to play. It has almost 900 slot machines and 21 table games, in addition to a Sports Book.

The table games available include blackjack, roulette, poker, and craps. They are available 24 hours a day for those who wish to enjoy them. 

The Sports Book and Lounge is the ideal place to enjoy sporting events and all the latest betting lines and future offers can be found there. It is open to the public every day from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.

This area also offers visitors the chance to play keno. With a single multi-game ticket, people can play keno while enjoying other gaming experiences. Keno games are broadcast on television and can be viewed from the hotel rooms.

This complex has a website from which you can learn about everything it offers. It has a modern and intuitive interface, with sections that detail a little more information. The colors of the website also help to make it a friendly site for those who enter and use it.

When you enter the website, you will find a bar on the top right where you will have access to the gaming, rooms, entertainment, experience, location, and hotel and casino reservation sections. You will also have access to a search bar.

At the bottom of the page, you will get the hotel's contact forms and security information, as well as technical support.

California Hotel & Casino has two mobile applications: 

• Boyd Sports Mobile App: Thisis an application available for Boys Gaming casinos where you can place your desired sports bets. Here you can learn about available sporting events, betting lines, and the different offers available. 
• Stardust Casino Mobile App: This application is also available to members of Boyd Gaming resorts. Here they can play games for free, accumulate points and redeem them for discounts at the company's establishments.

The interfaces of these applications are modern, intuitive, and easy to use. To access them it is necessary to create an account in each one, enter the requested data and verify the information and the account.

Events & Entertainment

California Hotel & Casino has several forms of entertainment. However, it does not currently have any events available in the casino area. 

Even so, this does not prevent people from enjoying the area and the Hawaiian atmosphere of the place.

History & Facts

California Hotel & Casino opened its doors in 1974, in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, very close to the Fremont Street Experience. 

It is owned by Boyd Gaming and was built by Sam Boyd. 

Initially, business was slow. Seeing this, Boyd decided to focus on the Hawaiian market, offering Hawaiian dishes and creating a casual, cool atmosphere.

In 1994, an additional tower was added to the hotel. The entire complex was also remodeled. 

A major renovation began in 2015 where Holo Holo: The Happy Bar, Cal Sports Lounge and Redwood Steakhouse were opened. In addition, a Hawaiian restaurant, Aloha Specialties, was renovated.

When the hotel started, it had 325 rooms, later growing to 435 rooms and 56 suites. By 2017, this resort had 781 rooms and a good entertainment center.

With the Hawaiian ambiance of this resort and the Hawaiian-targeted vacation packages that were included, a Hawaiian community was created in Las Vegas. This Hawaiian marketing spread to Fremont and Main Street Station and is credited with creating this community.

It is said that everyone who travels from Hawaii to Las Vegas stays at The Cal. The area is often referred to as "The Ninth Island".

The California Hotel & Casino is located in downtown Las Vegas, half a mile from Las Vegas Downtown and 0.6 kilometers from The Market. 

The district in which it is located is Fremont Street, just steps from the five-block Fremont Street Experience shopping center. It is also located next to the Mob History Museum.

Being in the center of Las Vegas, it is an ideal hotel to experience all that the city has to offer: great sightseeing, a good gambling environment, luxurious venues and endless entertainment. 

The nearest pharmacy is an 8-minute walk away and there are a variety of restaurants nearby.

Accessible by car or public transportation, the hotel is located 15 minutes from the iconic "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.

Covid Restrictions

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the California Hotel & Casino had a good cleaning and security system in place. After reactivation following the quarantine, the hotel implemented several sanitation measures to provide guests and visitors with good security. 

• Hand sanitizer is available free of charge to all guests.
• Guest areas are cleaned and disinfected several times a day, including slot machines, chairs, table games, kiosks, automatic teller machines, doors, and all elements of the various areas available.
• Air filter replacement and HVAC system cleaning is performed more frequently. 
• All members are trained on COVID-19, in addition to receiving health examinations and safety equipment (masks, gloves).
